My work
My work defines a space by means of composition, a play of light, textures and colours. It is unrelated to realism. I work mostly in oils on canvas and paper.
Beginnings
Born and brought up in France, I found my artistic foothold in mid-century abstract through my grandmother’s collection. After travelling throughout my twenties, I settled in New Zealand in the mid-eighties.
Writing
I turn to writing out of necessity; it doesn’t come easily. I write to define the leading thoughts behind my work, to expose my practice, and explore feelings inherent in art-making.
